Gambino frustrates me so much

first of all, imma just put it out there, i love gambino, he’s sick, he’s good, he’s probably revolutionary… w/e

what pisses me off, is how he is fucking„ revered….. specifically, by white people

everyone is saying how, gambino is smarter than most rappers, and how brilliant he is,

but he’s not… he’s just more relatable

white people probably understand the black guy who is more “white” than “black” than a straight hoodlum 

and white people are super excited when they understand a rapper, cuz they read EE Cummings in high school…

so that makes him better than Jay-z? better than drake? better than common? better than IMPORTANT rappers… 

I can’t count how many times, i have heard jay-z verses and have been like, wtf is he talking about…

so just cuz i can’t understand him, he’s not as smart as gambino? no, he’s just not as relatable to the white people, white people only like it when he does a commercial song.  

same thing goes the other way, my roommate has no idea who gambino is, cuz he has no appeal to people like my roommate, no one cares what he’s saying… so he’s not good? no… he’s good, just not relatable….

people are revering gambino like he’s the new coming, but … what about that new drake album… its freaking amazing.  

but no.. everytime i play some song from wale, common, talib kweli, drake, people around me are like, dude, can you play something that isn’t gay?….

when i play gambino, they rap along to every word……
