saying “faggot” in a rap song by a heterosexual rapper
is like a white rapper saying the N word
its nice to have different families in my life
whether it be my charlotte family
my NCSSM family
or my ND family
or even families within families. like my dorm family, or Voices family, or asian family, plus the other randos at notre dame
of course there are costs too. my charlotte family, doesn’t really exists anymore
my ncssm family is super weird. cuz knowing so many people from so many different places, knowing i wont be able to see any of them, and if i do, it wont be the same…etc..
but yea
a study showed that liberals were smarter than conservatives, for evolutionary reasons
most ivy league students are democrats and liberal
but most CEOs are conservatives
interesting…

are conservatives evil?
it was them that stopped desegregation of schools by busing so now 70% of blacks go to majority minority schools
brown vs board said separate was inherently unequal
drag…
now NC has banned gay marriage through its constitution
i guess i don’t know enough of conservatives to say bad about them, but why is political ideology something we keep to ourselves, or so divisive. I feel like i should be able to yell this stuff out if i feel its wrong
I havne’t really been keeping track of the amendment one stuff. other than the battles that have been going on, on Facebook.
but from what i understand, which may be biased, this amendment would screw over a lot of people and basically shut off GLBT progress
im glad my peers are fighting so hard against this amendment. I wish i was in NC to vote.
good luck north carolina
just follow ur heart
I understand the pressure to do well is great
but understand that you go to one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and you are there because they know and the world know you are bound to do great things
I don’t think majors are intended to teach you to do a job, or lead you on a specific path
i’m doing business right now but I want to do a teaching program when i graduate
I have theology major friends who have gone on, or plan to, go do service work post-graduation, which is a very viable option
Also, i know at ND, graduate programs in Theology are free tuition programs and i assume similar for other places. so that could be an option
if humanities is your strength, then “use your gifts” and go into it. if you truly enjoy BME, then stay in it, but if you do stay in it, understand you don’t have to measure up to anyone or anything…and with the parents, i think the best thing to do is to communicate. it took me a long time, but eventually they curbed, and support what i feel is best for me.
re-assessing.
blah.
when i was little i wanted to be a parole officer, social worker, nurse, doctor, then oncologist.
growing up, though, i never did well in my science or math classes. i was a bookworm and loved to write; at one point i got the nickname reader rabbit.
but, being asian, i…
So I’m a youtube freak. Not about how I make my own videos, but about how i scourge the internet for new music and covers of songs
I also use to watch American Idol, X factor, all dat
the last three years I haven’t been able to be a regular viewer of singing shows on TV so instead….I go on wikipedia, look at like the top 20 or whatever and see what songs they sang.
If its like a soul R&b song, or any song I really like, ill look it up on youtube and watch it.
Also, if i look at the name of the singer, and I have any indication that the singer might be black, i look them up. and I usually find the gem of the season
for me, the problem with these shows is that often times, the winner of the show is usually not a r&b singer.
every year, there is this really really talented black singer that can do many incredible things vocally. many of them are generic though and only sing like… dramatic inspirational songs. Others are the bomb. nonetheless, they always end up cheated, getting cut top 4 or top 5, For example, Jacob Lusk last season was the shit and everyone knew that, but was cut top 5. Tamara gray, melinda doolittle, latoya london, syesha mercado, anwar robinson, just to name a few…(I’ve been watching for toooo long).
This year, Joshua Ledet was just hailed by JLo to be among the best singers in the last 50 years…which is a little ridiculous considering she’s likes 40, but I bet you, he won’t win. he’s too generic, might be gay, and has too many haters. kinda sad….
But anyways: look up Deandre Brakensick and you won’t be disappointed.
